BioModem organizes a conference on sustainable slurry distribution at CIMAG-GANDAGRO 2025

The BIOMODEM Research Group of the Polytechnic School of Engineering of the USC, will organize on Friday, February 21, at 11:00 a.m. a technical conference on Sustainable Distribution of Slurry. The conference will take place in Silleda at the facilities of the Galician International Fair ABANCA, within the framework of the CIMAG-GANDAGRO fair. The event will be held in the Mirador 1 room on the first floor of Pavilion 1. Attendance is free and the Agronomic Engineering Foundation for the development of Galicia (FIA) collaborates in the organization.

The day will begin at 11:00 a.m. with the intervention of a representative of the Regional Department of Agriculture who will address the latest regulatory developments in relation to the farm digital notebook and its repercussions on fertilizer applications. Then, at 11:30 a.m., there will be a round table where representatives of four commercial brands (Talleres Carruxo, Talleres Moga, Díaz y Valín and Durán Maquinaria) will provide their vision on the current state of the slurry tank market and the impact of the latest regulations on it.

Two innovative projects related to the distribution of slurry from the PurinPreciso and Agrolab_Biogal operational groups will also be presented at the conference. The presentation of PurinPreciso will be given by representatives of FEUGA, BioModem and the Mabegondo Agricultural Research Center (AGACAL), while it will Agrolab_Biogal be presented by the company Medrar and BioModem. The two projects deal with the incorporation of sensors that measure the nutrient content of the slurry in the distribution tanks during the application. PurinPreciso addresses the use of conductivity meters and Agrolab_Biogal the use of NIR technology.

Finally, at 1:00 p.m., the day will close with the intervention of the researcher Diana Andrade, from the Bavarian Agricultural Research Center (LfL, Germany). In her presentation she will address the current state of distribution systems and the analysis of slurry in distributor tanks in Germany.

PURINPRECISO and AGROLAB_BIOGAL are financed by the aid for the implementation of innovative projects of the operational groups of the European Innovation Partnership (EIP), 80% co-financed with the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD) within the framework of the Strategic Plan of the Common Agricultural Policy (PEPAC) 2023-2027, with 14% of the Xunta de Galicia's own funds and with funds from the Ministry of Agriculture,  Fishing and Food by 6%. The Consellería do Medio Rural is the body of the Galician Administration that is responsible for proposing and executing the general guidelines in the rural area, and encompasses the competences in the field of agriculture, livestock, rural development and regional planning, rural structures, agri-food and forestry industries, forests, prevention and defence of forest fires.

Total budget PURINPRECISO: 180.000,00 € (100% subsidized)
