The Gayoso Castro Farm, in Castro de Ribeiras de Lea (Lugo), will be the setting on October 30 for the DigiPurin workshop, a technical meeting dedicated to showing the latest innovations in the application and digital management of slurry. The event, organized by the BioModem group in collaboration with the Digital Competence Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, will bring together technicians, farmers and companies from the agricultural and livestock sector interested in improving the efficiency and sustainability of this key practice for the use of nutrients on farms.
The program, which will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., combines field demonstrations and practical sessions on digitization tools and technical control. Among the contents are the slurry application systems with low emissions, the measurement of nutrients using sensors – such as NIRS technology or electrical conductivity – and the use of recording and traceability software to document the entire fertilization process.
During the day, attendees will be able to observe different application equipment, from splash plate to dribble bars or trailing shoes systems, and see how digital tools allow the use of slurry to be optimised according to its composition and the needs of the crop.
The initiative is part of the network of demonstrators launched by the Digital Competence Centre, which seeks to bring digitalisation closer to the sector through practical demonstrations in different parts of Spain. Its objective is to improve resource efficiency and reduce environmental impact, aligning with European agricultural sustainability policies.
Participation in the conference is free, although prior registration is required, as places are limited to 50 people. More information and registration at www.digipurin.com
