
The BioMODEM research group, acronym for Modeling, Energy and Mechanization in Biosystems, belongs to the University of Santiago de Compostela, located in the Polytechnic School of Engineering of the Lugo Campus. It focuses its research area on smart farming and the sustainable development of the rural world, both for companies, individuals and public administrations. With a vision of circular bioeconomy, efficiency and sustainability are transversal axes of our research activity.

The Gayoso Castro Farm, in Castro de Ribeiras de Lea (Lugo), will be the setting on October 30 for the DigiPurin workshop, a technical meeting dedicated to showing the latest innovations in the application and digital management of slurry. The event, organized by the BioModem group in collaboration with the Digital Competence Center of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, will bring together technicians, farmers and companies from the agricultural and livestock sector interested in improving the efficiency and sustainability of this key practice for the use of nutrients on farms.
